Zone 6 "Satellite Fields"
🌎 X - Safe
☠️ X - Safe ⏱ X - No 🏰 Many bases 📻 iNet - Yes |
Satellite Fields is the 7th and final zone of "The First Ones", a group of zones that have been known about for several decades. Only in the last decade have travelers gone beyond here. Satellite Fields resembles the grassy hills of the English countryside. There is plenty of lush farmable land with patches of fog all throughout and surrounded on the edges by a very thick fog. For some unknown reason there are thick bundles of cables strewn about that extend all over the zone and into the perimeter fog. Some of these cables connect to piles of computer equipment, satellite dishes, radio gear, and cellular towers. One especially tall hill in particular nicknamed "Wizard Hill" has some very tall cellular towers and satellite dishes and serves as the main hub for the Darkrooms internet, iNet.

In addition to the rolling fields, there are also clumps of trees, shrubbery, and flowers. Seemingly regular insects and small mammals also live here, making it feel very much so like an idealized version of reality. Three small rivers cut through this zone, supplied with very clear Crystal Water. Fish can occasionally be seen swimming in them. Occasionally one may happen across a small stone cottage, there are many of these strewn about. Usually they are inhabited, but if you find one that is empty it is generally agreed upon that it is yours to claim. Some of these cottages have been dismantled for materials, but it seems over time the cottages rebuild themselves, making for a limitless supply of stone, glass, and wood. Some berry bushes, legumes, and root vegetables seem to regularly spawn here, providing a constant source of food.
Perhaps the most fascinating attribute of Satellite Fields is its seemingly magical ability to send radio signals inter-dimensionally across zones. This was discovered by Katie Jiang and her team of information technology professionals. Through years of testing they utilized this condition to repeat signals from other zones to Wizard Hill in Zone 6 and then outwards to other zones, although not every zone seems to receive a signal, but many do. A compound has been set up using these inter-dimensional radio masts and satellite dishes called The Hub, the sort of information hub for The Darkrooms. Due to its importance, this is very high-security and heavily guarded by an alliance of groups in The Darkrooms.

Entrances
- By following the fog in Zone 5, one will eventually end up in Zone 6.
Exits
- By walking deeply into the fog, the ground will slowly change from vegetation to stone and eventually walls will fade into existence until you're deep into Zone 5.
- By finding a white marble doorway in the foggy hills and walking through it one will end up in a grand Zone 7 hallway. This doorway's location changes location in around a 2 mile radius after a group goes through it.
